A solid motivational, second chances story. Learn from your mistakes, love yourself, and maybe find romance in the process. The romance is a slow burn but realistic. More poignant is Avery’s relationship with Hallie and with herself. Filled with just enough gymnastics lingo and explanation that it’s an easy read and one I didn’t want to put down.

I’ve read a lot of legal thrillers and this by far has felt the most realistic. From the courtroom dialogue to Mike’s internal dialogue, nothing felt too far fetched. This isn’t Perry Mason. Even the little twist at the end had my jaw on the floor. As a lawyer myself, I really enjoyed this one.

Fantastic world building but almost no real character development or relationship development. The primary protagonist was also incredibly passive which didn’t seem to fit the novel itself. Ending felt rushed.
