A tense spy thriller with a dash of sci-fi.  Superb for the first 500 pages and then misses the mark of its predecessor. Overall The Year of the Locust is good if someone is hunting down an exciting spy thriller.

City on Fire was the first Don Winslow Novel I’d ever read and I can say I was impressed . From a fan of crime in film and book , It’s great to see that Winslow is able to merge the action of crime movies into a written format without losing any of the thrill factor that come from watching such movies in the big screen. If you’re a fan movies like The Departed or Goodfellas and want to have the same enjoyment reading a book this one is for you . Also can’t wait for the sequel to arrive !
