A dark romance tale that gives vibes similar to Dracula and Wuthering Heights with hauntingly beautiful writing. I enjoyed this book so much! The atmosphere with the castle, forbidden woods, and ghosts - all blended together to be such a great backdrop. The school setting, the mystery and legends surrounding the school, and the recent tragedies along with our main character Corvina with her purple eyes and raven hair - I was hooked. Great plot and the chemistry between Corvina and Vad is palpable! I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter from various classics and how those tied into the story. My only negative is that there were still open loops - which may have been intentional but I was hoping for more answers at the end. There are trigger warnings that the author lays out, so I suggest reading those before starting. This was exactly what I wanted to read when I picked it up and it did not disappoint.

Loved this!! I read the first book in the series - Recipe for Love - which I could NOT put down, and in this installment we’re following two side characters from the previous book in the same small town in Maine. Fiona and Kip, an unlikely pair but a dynamic one. This story features a marriage of convenience and an unplanned pregnancy coupled with some past traumas on both sides. Their story will warm your heart but also may make you crave a coffee and pastries! 💜⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!

In this stunning conclusion to Rebecca Ross’ Divine Rivals duology, we continue to follow Iris and Kitt as the god’s war between Dacre and Enva forges ahead. Rebecca’s writing is beautiful and how she paints the picture of war, and its effects are soul-wrenching. She doesn’t shy away from the horrors of war and also, by default, the grief that accompanies it. I felt transported by her words & story - like I was right there with Iris, Attie, Kitt, Tobias, Forrest, and Sarah - feeling the fear, the anger, and the heart-breaking loss alongside them. I thought the pacing was great, the character’s (main and side) were all well-fleshed out, and the story does a wonderful job of showing how happy endings can be found in the mess - not perfect endings, but silver linings that you can cling to for hope and for new beginnings. A captivating love story that I highly recommend! FIve stars!!
