I had high expectations for this book, but I didn't like it nearly as much as I thought I would. I think because it was from the point of view of a teenager I had a difficult time enjoying it.

Wow! This was a truly life-changing novel. I loved that it was biblically based. It takes a brave woman to write about that kind of love, and that kind of pain, and that kind of forgiveness.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow at first, and I was thoroughly creeped out by the hag with the sewn-shut mouth. BUT! I felt like there should have been some clarification on whether or not this was officially a part of The Sword of Truth series. CONFESSOR should have finished it, but somehow this gets a SOT #12 line-up. It felt like this un-did the end of the series, and the ending to this book was clearly not an ending, which was unsettling since Goodkind usually likes to wrap up his stories in neat little packages in the last few chapters. Hopefully there's something coming after this book that will expand on this story, or clean up the loose ends. I look forward to finding out!
