i went into this book not believing i would like it. i know what i enjoy and i stick with it religiously. reading this felt like learning to love reading all over again. learning to love my home, my family, my lungs. Elizabeth Acevedo has a gorgeous way with words and i will be reading her other works.

its like one of those mid books you just have to read. like seriously, I loved every second of this book and when I set it down I was like, wow I wasted three days of my like and don't mind.

there arent many sequels that rival orginal books like this one. the closure offered not only for finny and autumn, but jack as well was one that i didn't know i needed. if you read few books in your life, let If He Had Been With Me and If Only I Had Told Her be two of them.

the main premise of this book is that the ending is supposed to be this huge, unexpected thing. i went into this thinking that no plot twist could ever catch me off guard. this one did. as i was reading and learning little things, i kept thinking. is this it? is this the huge twist ive been waiting for? if so, shitty book. but it hits you in the face, and i love this book so much for that. genuinely, if anyone asks you how it ends, just lie.
