Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster by Adam Higginbotham
4.0
I really enjoyed the book. It was a dense read, so I had to take it slowly. I could only read a chapter or partial chapter at a time, and I definitely could only read it at times when I had a decent amount of focus.
Before reading this, I didn't know much about the Chernobyl disaster other than it was a nuclear reactor explosion. I love how all the contributing factors leading up to the disaster were presented, giving a sense of foreboding. I found myself horrified by the negligence and coverups that culminated into a disaster waiting to happen.

Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

This was the secret novel from Brandon Sanderson's Kickstarter campaign I was looking most forward to, and it exceeded my expectations. I greatly enjoyed the cute romance along with the wonderful fantasy world building. There are a few references to other Cosmere stories, many which I didn't really understand because I haven't read much of them thus far. Not understanding the references didn't detract at all from the story.
