My very first book of this author. Very well written. I did a grave mistake of starting this before going to sleep.. goal 2 chapters before the horizon strikes.
Ended up completing the book to sunrise😩
Story was a conventional one, rich hockey player falling for a poverty dripping kind-hearted woman. But the story telling by the author was great.
Glad to stumble upon this one... Spoiler alert.. there's a cute cat in the book Both FMC and MMC were had equally space in the book.
Neva has a way of dragging readers through her lines. Though no women would fall the way the FMC did, it was definitely good on paper. MMC was paranoid and the ending made me cackle 🤣
The villain was highly predictable from the start and it was clear as day. So not much suspense there.
I have come to an awful realisation that I no longer like ya genre. I read it because it's Ali's, cause her stem stories were cool(adam and olive, jack and Elsie, levi and bee)
Sometimes I feel her female povs are more like word vomit. But was funny in a mind numbing way.
Pen was itch right from the start. Dunno how the FMC or MMC doesn't realise it and be her puppets is beyond my understanding.
Suspense kept me hooked right from the first page, but it overpowered unnecessarily since it carried through 98% of the book.
It quickly made me super uncomfortable with Chris seeing Jans email. But gave a commendable ending and not giving the stereotypical ending .4.5 for that alone 😷📖
Stacks of adventure. No dull points. Too many character names to track, but the adventure was worth.
Xaden just stole my heart. I am pretty sure the next installment is gonna be his dark villain arc. Still this book gave a strong feeling of 'no one could measure upto him'
Ridoc, is the best. Kept pushing when there was character overload just because of him. Ugh to have a friend like him🤣🤣🤣🤣
Violet, the FMC was badass and her character as a leader and representative was just empowering to read. Her character has evolved so much from FW. Brilliant at it's best. Her love for friends dragons and Xaden was described beautifully and quick thinking was just Golden.
Tairn was great as usual. This installment focused solely on Andarna which was a rollercoaster of emotional journey.
Tairn's mate(how do you spell sgael? Ugh)did not have much of a role except at the end but acted sus throughout. Hmm 🤔
Lots of Sus moments throughout the book which I believe will unravel in the upcoming installments and Aaric signet was just exemplary and scary
Don't want to put any spoilers here. I have seen people on bookstagram and booktok dnf'ing it for petty reasons influencing a majority. Well it's their loss. Good luck for their next 'fantasy read'.
I am gonna stick to Yarros and trust the process cause missing out on this is foolish.
The plot is amazing but the story was draggy baggy. Why would he fall into depression if he plotted Abb's death. He chooses to do a bad thing and frets over it for a whole year. Okay fine, acceptable, but Abby if so concerned that her husband was not into her, she should have been open about her thoughts and if her husband was insecure of his career, she should have asked him to get a therapy and both could have gone to couples therapy instead they both kept their thoughts and decided to paint colours over their decaying marriage which obviously blew up.
The chapters when truth was revealed were just like not written neatly. Couldn't grasp well. maybe I was half asleep dunno
But kitty jumping in was unpredictable.
The author made Abby be some slimy character, and at the end just with a flip of few pages, made grady bad man???
Seriously, poor fellow went into depression after killing her. People who love that desperately with fear of losing loved ones don't kill, even if they do, they choose to follow them
Just because the plot is good the author fails to insert basic logic here which is disappointing
The plot was cool, more like midsommar vibes.
It felt like author was forced to tarnish Grady's character somehow.
But killing Grady was just wasn't necessary and totally disappointing 😞
Thank God, the dog was saved.. jeez it gave me jitters
