Okay so... I am an absolute fan of hockey... and romance books. But let me tell you this book took first place in the read for this month and top 3 books for 2025. The story here is an absolute well-done enemies to lovers, close proximity, found family and parental issues.

Bear was forced to move from his university and try to turn his life around to make it in the NHL. Finding out that a "crazy ex" from his stepbrother story is the one who receives and ends up rooming up with him. Their hate, constant proximity and their mission to turn everything in the team around leads to amazing banter, spice, and above all a well written story. This book captivates you from the start till the end and I absolutely fell in love with the side characters, they added so much to their story as a couple that I can't wait to see their books as well.

Are you a dark romance fan? Cuz THIS IS HOW RED IS THE FLAG AND HOW CLOSE CAN I GET TO THE BULL TYPE OF BOOK AND LET ME TELL YOU ITS RED! BLOOD RED.
Im absolutely in awe of this dark cowboy romance, I absolutely enjoyed this book (check for triggers my people) yeah dark romance is not for everyone but this is an absolute masterpiece.

Besides the mutual lust, tethered souls and the penpal aspect of the story is absolutely amazing. Being book one of the series it sets up an amazing base to what we could be seeing in the next books. I absolutely love this cowboy venture and the sexual tension throughout the storyline.
