I honestly think the topic of sexual assault is a hard topic to write about especially when it comes to a survivor finding love. I believe this story tried to show that after such a traumatic you can find love but honestly from my point of view the romance was not beneficial for someone like Alexandra.
I will admit I did love how they were ultimately equals in the relationship. In most romance novels with such covers the woman is a damsel in distress in this Pierce acknowledges his wife's education and the fact that she's academically smarter than him and doesn't try to push her down from her pursuits.
