One of the characters is spiritual and one of the characters is gay. It just felt off to me.

I couldn’t finish the book because there is content I don't agree with. One of the characters is pretending to be a different gender from the one they are born with.

This was a great book! It is about Eleanor who lives a lonely, solitary live where she doesn’t really interact with anyone but her mom. She goes to work, and other places like the grocery store but she is lonely. That is one the major themes throughout this book. It made me think about there are a lot of people in the world who are lonely and don’t have anyone there for them. The power of kindness and friendship from others makes a big impact on Eleanor.

This book shocked me. The amount of manipulation and deception, just wow. The plot and characters were very well developed.
Warnings: There is some language. The couple does engage in sex but there aren’t any details.

I just loved this book. Kim Cash Tate does a good job at making realistic characters that are relatable. She doesn’t shy away from how broken we are and how God can save us and change us!

Another thing I like is the godly community and the genuine love the characters have for God and for one another.

The idea that we are cherished by God is woven throughout the book!

“His grace and mercy have covered you. You are not the same; no longer bound by what you used to do. That’s why he came-so you could make a change completely now. And in his name you’re a conqueror, beloved too.
