Neon Gods is a "retelling" of Hades and Persephone. At first, I was intrigued of the modern world building. It was sort of new to me (reminded me of Lore Olympus) and I really loved concept of someone becoming Zues or the other gods as well. I wished though that the author wrote more about the story's world building and shared some of the plot's history and background. I had many unanswered questions. I have a feeling though that I would get more answers with the next books on the series but I don't think I would be finishing it. (I'm part of the problem, I struggle with series).
Aside from the world building. I was on 50-50 with the overall plot. I liked it was fast-paced because it kept my attention, I was in a reading slump before this. But at the same it acted like a double-edge sword. It was so fast-paced the story didn't flow as smoothly and for me, it left so many plot holes. The characters were alright. I loved the diversity the author included. And finally for the most important part, the intimate scenes. They were okay, not the best and not as hot as I had expected from other reviews.
Overall, the book was just okay. I wouldn't probably recommend it but if you want to try it I wouldn't stop you also.

I remember loving this in Wattpad. I was addictive to anything greek mythology related. Especially if the main male character lead was Hades.
