At times plodding and meandering, both for good and ill, but every once in a while you get walloped by a paragraph about the nature of faith so good that you keep going.

This book made me realize that it’s not that I actually dislike dark romance, it’s that lot of what’s marketed as dark romance is just not very good. Highly recommend the audiobook, both narrators are excellent.
