The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
4.0
I loved the Broken Earth series so I thought I would give this trilogy a try. I don’t like it quite as much as broken earth but I still find myself quite eager to read the next two books in the series. N.K, Jemisin create such spectacular and interesting worlds that it’s hard to put any of her books down. She is quickly becoming a fav author of mine and happy to recommend her books to friends and family.

I finished reading this book this morning— a beautiful memoir into the life of a queer butch Muslim woman. I appreciated how much I got to learn about the stories of the Quran and Islamic prophets, and the ways in which she ties these stories to her own life and queerness. Highly recommend, especially for anyone who is queer and/or trying to read more stories by Muslim authors

Best Jemisin book I’ve read so far!! Loved it!!! More of a page turner than the first in this trilogy and the story started off right away. I loved how each chapter was labeled with a title and artistic medium. Highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read the third book!

It was cute! I read this via audiobook and really loved the narrator who added an extra element of bringing this story to life

I am giving it 5 stars because I love the magical children in this book. They’re sweet, funny, charming, and definitely the best part of this whole story. However, a lot of characters make comments on the main character’s size throughout the book which feels unfortunate and unnecessary.
