I really like reading books that have aspects of culture that I'm not familiar with, and this was a great read.

Kennedy's parts were not as gripping to me, but the other characters sucked me right in! It made me think about the world around me, especially in the context of a second Trump presidency and my career as an RN.

I really loved this book, and I look forward to reading the sequel "The Guncle Abroad". I found GUP to be very relatable and lovable, the way he deflects uncomfortable moments was very charming. I also have a newfound love for Steven Rowley as a writer, and hope to get my hands on more of his work.

The book flips back and forth between past and present, and I felt like I needed a piece of paper to map out the plot lines
