Everything Is Awful and You're a Terrible Person by Daniel Zomparelli

It feels like this guy tried way too hard to be weird and artsy and just came off as a massive edgelord
The Honeymoon Hijackers by Natasha West

This story was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, every part was so good (though Kate’s justice boner did make me wanna smack her about half a dozen times), the romance was tumultuous but fantastic, and the humor had me laughing out loud at points. Wish this book and Meet You At The End of the World were avaliable physically so I could have them on my bookshelf, but I guess having them on my kindle app is the next best thing.

From the author who wrote such a brilliant book that ended up being my first five-star of the year, this feels like an awful first draft that was rushed out to hit an arbitrary deadline. The prose is overwritten and repetitive, some parts of the story are rushed past or pushed off the page altogether while others are lingered on far too long, and the story is not at all fleshed out. I hope the next book I read from her leans more towards the first book than this.

GabbieHannacore in so many ways even going as far as flippantly acknowledging she’s the common denominator but doing nothing about it except make it a punchline

Absolutely brilliant, tons of twists and turns and with plenty of payoffs at the end, even more than I expected. I’m happy to call this my first 5⭐️ of the year 🫶 (also it’s the perfect lesson in why you shouldn’t trust the decision making skills of someone fucking named Emma lmao)

The story was great, full of exciting twists and turns, and I really appreciated the nonverbal autism rep (honestly some of the best I’ve come across in any media, even though that is a low bar), but the characters used therapy speech so much that they often didn’t feel like real people.
