I remember the poem books like this from when I was a child. I never read this one, but it was decent. Poetry really isn't my favorite form of literature, but I still enjoyed it.
This one was actually very intriguing! I read it all in a single sitting! It was a really short read and I loved every minute of it! Alice returns to the Strange Lands with Ever Hart after their daring escape from a home for troubled youth. Will they escape the Queen's wrath? You have to read it to find out.
My only issue with this story is that it seemed rushed at the end. It could have been a bit longer in my opinion.
This one was an interesting read. I only found it because of a book group that I'm a part of on Facebook and I was intrigued, so I looked into it. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I started it early Wednesday morning, but I couldn't get myself to read past the first line because I was sleep deprived and giggly, but once I actually started reading it I really enjoyed it. Yes, the FMC has sex with her door who can turn human.
“I have no name but yours, Tana. I am your faithful guardian and protector, nothing more, nothing less. I am your door, and I love you.”
Wow! That was exciting!!! This one is not for everyone! It is a horror Omegaverse story that involves serial killers and other questionable things. I loved it though. I have already recommended this to one of my friends because I think she'll like it.
This one was okay. It wasn't my favorite book of the series. It had me giggling and it was cute, but not much more than that. Onto my favorite quotes!
"I sucked in a breath between my teeth. “Oof, sorry, can’t do, champ. You just friended the wrong girl. This brain? Full of Twilight quotes and omegaverse lore, not math.”"
"No. If my best friend’s going to jump, I’m at least going to be his spotter."
"“I wasn’t joking yesterday when I asked you to kiss me.” My bottom lip wobbled. “So you can find your t-true love, too?” “Fuck that,” he growled and took my face in his hands and kissed me. Crushed our mouths together, our breaths intertwining in the cold."
This was a cute little story! I enjoyed it and needed it after my very stressful week at work. This book made me laugh for the majority of it. Here are some of my favorite quotes!
“That look,” she said, waving her hand at his face. “You usually make that look when I come in the bakery, like you’d rather burn the place down than have me step foot in here. You’ve been looking so weird and smiley ever since the earthquake that I was worried it did something to the space-time continuum, or something.”
“I hope you have a good idea, because right now I’m sitting here, alone in my bakery with the woman of my dreams on Valentine’s Day, with a box full of pastries that I saved for her in the hope that she would come in today and they’d be waiting—”
"You see, I have resting smile face.”
"You’ve heard of resting bitch face, right? I would assume so—your picture is right next to the definition in the dictionary."
This was so cute!!! I loved that it was told in mostly emails. I read basically the whole thing in one go, but I had to stop to get ready for my nails appointment. I couldn't wait until my nails were done so I could finish this. Gahhh!! I just loved this book!!! Probably one of my favorites from this year!!! As always, here are my favorite quotes.
"He came out looking like an A + sex stud, and I came out looking like Gollum curled around her bottle of wine."
"“Can I take you out to dinner?” His question comes out of absolutely nowhere, and my fists drop like stones. “What?” “Dinner.” He cutely mimes spooning food into his mouth. “Sun goes down. People eat.” “Like a date?” “I hope so? I intend to flirt.”"
"“I don’t normally kiss before the first date,” I tell him. “But you’re the exception to the rule.”"
"Are we still going to be emailing each other from the same couch on Valentine’s Day in fifty years?"
My rating is 2.5 stars. My lowest rating ever! It was good, but it probably isn't something I'll think about for days on end. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Here are some of my favorite quotes though that helped me finish this.
"You are guilty of nothing but choosing what is best for you."
"Be wise and protect all you’ve worked hard to become. Terrible pasts aren’t meant to be relived."
"There was always better waiting on you. You were always lovable, you were always worth it, you were always the perfect cup of tea."
"Heartbreaks hurt, but nothing hurts more than death, though you are not around to feel it."
I did enjoy the message behind it and even the premise, but the execution wasn't to my liking. I think I will give some of his other books a try however to see if it's just my dislike for poetry that made me dislike it.
I read this in basically one sitting. This is a book that I will think about often. I don't usually read poetry, but this may have convinced me to give it a try. I felt for her because I have gone through similar trauma. It was amazing! Here are some of my favorite quotes.
"Love isn’t always easy, but it shouldn’t feel like hell in your hands. It shouldn’t leave you empty, desperate to understand. Love doesn’t leave you wondering what you’ve done wrong, or threaten to leave, if you’re not getting along. Love doesn’t force or demand, or leave you alone for hours in the bed. Love isn’t always easy, but it shouldn’t feel like hell in your hands."
"I want to know why the world cares more about forgiveness, than the pain of those who were hurt."
"I didn’t deserve what happened to me, and I am allowed to grieve who I used to be."
Oh my goodness!!! This book was so good!!! I cried! I laughed!! I read this in a single sitting and I loved it! I just wished it had been longer!! This book just hits me differently than most of the books I've read! I know this is a book that I'll think about for a long time!! Here are a few of my favorite quotes.
"No, the whole point in me telling you this story is to remind you that we need to manifest our own destiny. I never accepted less than what I deserved ever again. Never ignored a red flag or excused bad behavior. I asked for what I wanted, and I protected those I loved, and I demanded the things I needed, and I had a beautiful life. Take responsibility for your own unhappiness, Holly. If you don’t love your life, change it.”
This one is something that I already live by and I thought it was amazing that it came from her grandma. Here's a quote that made me laugh when I felt like I should have been crying.
“Imagine having to kill a guy named Chip,” she whispered. “That would piss me off. Like, you’re gonna have a stupid name and be an asshole? Pick a struggle.”
