Usual tropes and predictable plot, the characters are not redeemable or likeable at all, the only part I did enjoy was the ending and was wishful throughout we could have followed Verity. Alas, we had beige toast instead.

Absolutely dull. I really don't understand the hype. Predictable plot, lack of emotional turmoil, themes are lacklustre regarding main characte, typical gaslighting and emotional tropes. I only finished as it was a group read.

Couldn't care less what happened to all characters involved.

Plot development utterly tiresome. No likable characters, couldn't think of one thing to keep me going with this book other than a reading sprint with my book group. 

I honestly forget what this book is even about without some nudging on the topic. Dire.

Great little read, the Inn and main characters were enjoyable to read about, the folklore too. But, felt there was a lot lacking in suspense, drama, fluidity and "romance" between MC and love interest. The latter felt very flat and non existence and honestly could of read without it and gone on with the lore of sea, town and Selkies.
