i’ve read fanfic 10x better than this. characterization felt like it was written by a middle schooler. and kept rolling my eyes at the nearly fantastical perception of american government. bleh
writing felt middle grade and humor wasn’t hitting past the first few chapters

Too much time spent in the hell hole known as Twitter. I don't think anyone who isn't terminally online would enjoy this book at all, but unfortunately for me I am so I at least empathized with the pain of being personally harassed online. I guess as a satire this book is FINE but it seemed like it could have done more with the 300ish pages it used to center its core theme of loneliness instead of having June descriptively, repeatedly doomscroll. But since this book was otherwise paced very well and the writing style was super fluid, I ended up reading it in only two days. Overall not a waste of time but I probably won't be picking up other books by this author.
interesting illustrations but compared to other modern mythology overviews it’s extremely dry :/
