Very tasty, musical writing with beautiful descriptions and metaphors. I regret not highlighting quotes while reading, but since I’m sure I’ll reread it eventually I’ll do it then. All the characters are gray and it’s difficult to hate anyone, so the story doesn’t feel childish. I feel bad for all of them. I didn’t like how lust was portrayed in this sort of rapey manner but well, the protagonist is literally Satan, so I guess I can’t complain too much. I like that it is in a way demonized, at least. The book got me thinking with its endless philosophical ramblings and often giggling at the softer moments. The fallout between Lucifer and Michael has me on my knees clenching my fists. The book itself feels like an early Autumn morning in a prairie, with flowers and sunlight, and quietness.
