Rereading TLH after first reading it in elementary school, its definitely not my favourite from the HoO series. It’s predictable and follows the basic PJO formula but is also fun and has its moments. Leo really was the standout for me and I’m excited to see them all unite again.

I really do admire what this comic was trying to accomplish when it introduced real life issues and the ideas of the "forgotten generation", however their slightly robotic approach made the idea lack heart, and in turn came off as a stiff political statement added to make "buzz". As the comic's target demographic, I feel its poor attempts to seem relatable to teens are cheap and lack real depth. Instead, I feel it should make better attempts to build on their characters and story. Though I may have been disappointed with this installment, I will say the appearance by Wolverine was a nice touch and adds possibility to more crossovers in future installments.

Despite what this book's description may have you believe, this book is more about Hawthorn inappropriately inserting herself in a missing girl's life rather than a real "edge of your seat", type mystery. Every other character besides Hawthorn was interesting to me. The book struggles to decide on the tone Hawthorn was going for, (mean, naive, or mysterious, etc.) thus making her character seem so self-absorbed to the point it's difficult to continue reading. The unnecessary and wildly inappropriate obsession or "romance" with Lizzie's grieving, now ex-boyfriend who's an adult and high school aged Hawthorn was the final nail in the coffin for me. There are so many other amazing novels in the mystery genre, however The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett is not one I would recommend.

Actually redeemed the whole series for me, such a good ending and farewell to these characters. Very satisfying finale!

I really liked the characters in the beginning but with the way the book was formatted, all the anticipation i had for the “reveal” of what happened two summers ago was lost with how it kept switching timelines. Slightly disappointing

I think i came into this book with too high expectations cause I thought i would like the story a lot more. Might have been more impactful knowing nothing about the story, but the writing was personally not my style either.

a cute rom com type read, though gets a little dragged out in the middle/end losing a lot of the charm that got me interested in the beginning
