Thank you so much to Harper Collins and Edelweiss for the opportunity to read this book!
I really enjoyed this one and found it really different to anything else I’ve read before - especially in the YA contemporary genre. The romance was brilliant but didn’t take over the story which I appreciated as I liked that the main focus was on sisterhood. The dual perspective between the two sisters was really well executed and I’ll definitely be reading more of Angela Velez’s books in the future.
My favourite character was definitely Lulu as I love reading about nerdy main characters… I can relate

I really enjoyed this one! It tells the story of 17-year-old Cyra whose Mum has just checked in to a mental health retreat to try and help her debilitating OCD - Cyra is sent to spend the summer at her Gran’s house and ends up having a whirlwind summer full of romance and drama. It was a very emotional read, but still had a rom-com feel and I was laughing out loud in places. You’ll absolutely love this book if you like..
✨Australian seaside town setting
✨sapphic romance
✨complex character-driven stories
✨mental health representation
It was an amazing debut novel and I’d definitely recommend picking it up (it’s free on kindle unlimited at the moment as well
Really enjoyed this one and I love Sarah Crossan’s writing so much! This is my second book by her and I’ll definitely be reading more ☺️
Ok I absolutely adored this one!! I am absolutely in love with Holly Bourne’s books - I’ve read three so far and rated them all 5⭐️

✨synopsis✨
For Ri Fernández’s entire life, she’s been told, “We live in America and we speak English.” Raised by her strict Mexican grandma, Ri has never been allowed to learn Spanish. What’s more, her grandma has always pushed Ri away from the neighborhood they call home and toward her best friend’s world of mansions and country clubs in the hopes that it’ll bring Ri closer to achieving the “American Dream.”
In her most private thoughts, Ri has always believed that her mother, who disappeared when she was young, would accept her exactly how she is. So when Ri finds a secret unanswered letter from her mom begging for a visit, Ri decides to reclaim what her grandma kept from her: a language and a mother. But nothing goes as planned. Her mom isn’t who Ri imagined she would be. And Ri’s struggling to navigate the different interweaving threads of her mixed heritage that make her who she is. Nobody has any idea of who Ri really is—not even Ri, herself.
I really enjoyed this one ❤️ I found the relationship between Ri and her grandmother really interesting to read about as they were both flawed characters that were trying their hardest to do what they thought was right. It is quite a heavy and emotional book so don’t go into it expecting a lighthearted romcom, but it’s definitely worth a read and it was lovely to watch Ri connecting with her culture

Loved rereading this old favourite in preparation for reading the rest of the series! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Unfortunately this was my least favourite out of Alex Gino's books so far but it was still a short and sweet story and would definitely still recommend :)

This one was really interesting. It makes you think about the decisions we make and how they can impact others and is very relevant to current events. Definitely worth a read!
This was a cute middle grade to start the month with - really liked the audiobook narration :)
