Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power by Jon Meacham

4.0

While detailed and thorough, this biography failed to highlight the use and importance of slaves to the success of Jefferson. Without his slaves, which he supposedly argued against slavery, he would have made it as far as he did. They cared for his family, escorted his children to France and maintained his plantations and house in his absence. They are worth more than a few paragraphs. Beyond that, this book gave me great insight to your founding father.
