I have mixed feelings about this book and Ray Bradbury. I think he is an excellent writer and a great storyteller. He predicted quite a bit of the future (book bannings, electronics, etc), but the women in his books. Ugh! He doesn't give them much emotional depth. The 2 women in F451 who have any depth appear for a short time in the book. Also, why were there only men saving/memorizing books and the only books saved were written by male authors? People tend to give Ray Bradbury allowances due to the time period it was written. Well, it was written after the time of Rosie the Riveter and many women worked outside the home during WWII. Women worked outside of the home as factory workers, teachers, librarians, receptionists, scientists, authors, artists, etc. In F451, in the future women are sad homemakers. I just wish he provided more depth with the female characters such as his wife. Also, maybe sprinkle in a few women saving books & female authors on the list of saved books
