The Emperor's Arrow by Lauren D.M. Smith

This book was the pause I needed from YA Fantasy. It was set on a fictional world but still, no magic or superpower. It was like Hunger Games meet Wonder Woman, minus the godly powers.
I loved the main character, Evony, and her forwardness and true personality. She was loyal, bold and a hell of a soldier. She was also caring and selfless and never afraid to speak her mind.
Also, the sex scenes didn't seem pushed cause i normally skip the sex. But it was beautiful and written in a way to make it blend with the event.
I would totally recommend it, though I'm a bit sad that it is a stand alone novel.

It was a real laugh while reading the book. It put a lot of characters that are somehow connected into embarrassing situation, and you just get amazed by how they managed. They were this set of odd people with serious jobs, who are far from ordinary.
It was confusing at first since a lot of characters were introduced at once, but later, I got to understand that they were related somwhow and it was all planned.
If you like sitcoms, you'll love this one.

Getting into the mood of Halloween on the last day with the famous Sabrina The Young Witch comics!
Before bing watching the Netflix show, I decided to read first the comics and wow I'm blown by how dark it is!
We get to meet Sabrina Spellmen, a half-witch who is raised by her aunties after their society banished her father for marrying a mortal (a normal person) and after her mother went mad. In this first book, we meet a bunch of charcaters who would play a huge part in her life and I can't wait to see who the mysterious woman who had a grunge against Sabrina's parents

In this one, we see the full ritual evey witch go through to be declared a new witch in the blood moon night after her 16th birthday. Surprisingly for Sabrina, the blood moon will be the night she turns 16, on Holloween. It is really chilling and good God it's very dark and very twisted.

IT'S GETTING DARKER!!!!
The story takes place after Harvey finds about the Coven and the witches gathering for Sabrina to sign her name in the book. It's a tragedy what had come of him, but as Aunt Zelda said, "a sacrifice must have been made after all,"
