A Court of Wings and Ruin

I will come back to this most likely just because of FOMO. I’ve read a lot of books and as much as I’ve enjoyed parts of this series, her writing leaves something to be desired. It just gives zero depth and I have no interest in the sister’s stories or them in the story at all.

just didn’t grab my interest. I felt bored. there’s a lot more out there to read.

Absolutely enchanting artwork and a heartfelt story about working together.

Elsa and Aiden stress me out but I am convinced they belong together. Damn that ending, you know I gotta find out what's next

For people who want a book about a tale as old as time that starts with the city girl in her high heels and her new York disposition goes to a cattle ranch and falls in love with a country bumpkin who treats her better than her techy douche boyfriend back in the big city. This is for you. I have read and watched so many of these. I think I have reached my life quota for this trope. Save a horse yeehaww

I say this a lot but I might come back to this ( might be lying)
emotional reflective sad

this is the best one of this series, which I didn’t expect. It’s also not saying much though because this series isn’t doing it for me. I did enjoy being sad for Alessandra though I mean I’m still a little bitter about how Dom treated her ngl. I forgive the blondie though.

I really like Feysand!!! some times it felt corny but it was so fun. I loved the Night Court antics, Feyre’s healing and all the high risk adventures. I love Mor and Amren too!! That last bit had me on my TOES. Feyre is evolving (thank god) and obviously I’m in love with Rhysand.

This was so much better than the first book like insanely better. I think that is part of why this gets a better rating than expected. The adventures and playful "courting" brought more energy and flavor to a story that falls sort of flat for me. Purely on the adventure and beginning of this relationship gives the rating. The "sexy" bits don't feel sexy to me unfortunately and the writing feels generic and juvenile. Repetitive phrasing and decisions have you wrenched from an otherwise enjoyable adventure. I HATE her sisters, they are both horrible sisters and people and I am not interested in their stories so this is where I leave you. This feels like an adult version of powerless by Lauren Roberts but adult fantasy instead ya tropey dystopia. If this is your yum, I am very happy for you.

Beyond the critique and from a glance, I enjoyed this. The adventures to the different courts and side characters were very fun to me. Have some action and questing while learning about the new Feyre and her blossoming relationship with Rhysand was a treat. I just think the execution could have been phrased and been generally better.

I needed to remind myself that it's not my thing. My strong heroine shouldn't avoid love because it's "girly" as the description says. Yuck
