UNLADYLIKE RULES OF ATTRACTION is an enemies to lovers regency romance where anya marleigh, a singer and sitar player in the queen's court, is unexpectedly left an inheritance—with the condition that she must marry before her 25th birthday, and that her trustee, lord damian ashton, approve of her suitor. the problem? she hates him. this was such a fun and intriguing historical romance and i had the best time while reading it. it took me a bit to get into it, but once i did, i really couldn't stop reading until i found out what happened. anya was such a wonderful, complex and fleshed out character, as was damian, and the side characters in the story really added to it.

i don't want to spoil too much, but read if you like:
- lots of banter and sexual tension
- proposals of convenience (or are they??)
- diverse historical romances
- a little crime solving as a treat

HERE FOR THE WRONG REASONS is a sapphic dating show romance where two women who are supposed to be vying for the affection of the same man end up falling for each other instead. and if that doesn't tell you how excited i was to read this book, i don't know what else would. i mean sapphic? dating show? rivals to lovers? say less! i absolutely loved krystin and lauren's story—i loved how their relationship developed, how it slowly evolved from rivals to friends and how they fell in love from there. it was really refreshing that while krystin was discovering her sexuality throughout the course of the book, it wasn't made into a Thing. this was a wonderful debut and i really hope paulsen and wang continue to write romances together!

read if you like:
- the bachelor but make it gay
- mud wrestling! horseback riding!
- forced proximity + slow burn
- the messiness of dating show contestants

BETTER LEFT UNSENT is a workplace romance about millie chandler, a receptionist who uses her email drafts as a diary, until the day her emails are accidentally sent to everyone—ranging from her soon-to-be-married ex-boyfriend, her unattainable (or so she thinks!) work crush, her best friends, and all the people she doesn't like in her office. new fear unlocked, right?! millie is struggling to figure out how to pick up the pieces and patch things up with the people she hurt, and she just so happens to get closer to her quasi-boss/work crush, jack, in the process. i absolutely loved millie and jack's relationship, their dynamic, and the way she felt comfortable enough to be her true self with him. i also really loved all of the side characters and would gladly read a novel about cate and ralph or petra and kira. the pacing did feel a little off, with the beginning of the book dragging while the second half went by super quickly, and i would've loved to see more of millie's other best friend, alexis. but overall, i really enjoyed the book and can't wait to see what lia louis writes next!

- office romances,
- lovable side characters,
- low spice

NEARLYWED is a story about an engaged couple going on their "earlymoon" — and what happens when their compatibility is put to the test during their vacation. ray bruno, a social media writer, has been obsessed with love for as long as he could remember, and after his first marriage crashed and burned, he was ecstatic to meet kip hayes, a handsome, pragmatic and older doctor who has no social media presence whatsoever. despite all their differences, their relationship seems to work, at least until their week-long stay at a hotel dedicated to earlymoons. one of my favorite tropes is marriage/relationship in trouble, so i absolutely loved this book and seeing ray and kip's story unfold. both of them had a lot of work to do in their relationship, but it pays off in the end with a very satisfying ending that i really enjoyed. thanks to netgalley and sourcebooks casablance for the advanced copy. NEARLYWED comes out may 21st!

THE WORST PERFECT MOMENT is a sapphic coming of age book... set in the afterlife. after tegan masters died, she was disappointed and surprised to find out that her version of heaven is a recreation of one of the worst weekends of her life. zelda, the angel assigned to tegan's case, however, is insistent that she couldn't have gotten it wrong. but when tegan escalates her complaints to zelda's higher ups, the two have to set off on a mission through tegan's memories to see which one of them is right. this is such a fun, emotional, but also heartbreaking story about death, self-worth and figuring out who you are and i absolutely loved it. zelda and tegan were both such compelling characters and i absolutely loved their dynamic and their banter. thanks to netgalley and holiday house for the advanced copy. SPIRITS AND SIRENS is a small-town sapphic romance about two women who get off on the wrong foot but find themselves working together to solve a decades-long mystery. al and elena's story was so entertaining and easy to get through, and i loved how their relationship was built up from quasi-rivals to begrudgingly pairing up to falling for each other. as the third book in the owen station series, it was also really nice to see the characters from previous books popping up! i'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes small-town romances with a lot of banter and heat. thanks to netgalley and bold strokes books for the advanced copy. SPIRITS AND SIRENS comes out may 14!

THE HONEY WITCH is a sapphic cottagecore fantasy (and yes, it's exactly as amazing as it sounds). marigold claude has always felt different from the rest of her family, and when her grandmother visits her family's estate, she learns it's because she comes from a long line of honey witches. she moves to her grandmother's cottage to take care of a magical isle and learn all about her powers, when she meets the grumpy but beautiful lottie burke. despite the fact that lottie seems to hate her, marigold can't seem to stay away from her, despite knowing that a curse prevents her from falling in love. if this hasn't already sold you on this book, maybe the fact that it's also a historical queernormative romance might. THE HONEY WITCH is a stunning debut and i absolutely loved it. thanks to netgalley and redhook for the arc. THE HONEY WITCH comes out may 14th!

AUBREY MCFADDEN IS NEVER GETTING MARRIED is a quasi enemies-to-lovers sapphic romance about aubrey mcfadden, whose wedding day is ruined by her fiancé's best friend, monica wallace, when she breaks the news that the wedding is called off. aubrey spends the next ten years hating monica and avoiding her at all costs, until all of their mutual friends decide to get married within the span of a year and she can no longer avoid her. with each wedding, aubrey realizes that maybe she doesn't hate monica at all and that maybe, just maybe, she's insanely attracted to her and might be catching feelings instead. i love everything i've read from georgia beers so far, and this did not disappoint in the slightest. aubrey and monica's chemistry was so good and their relationship built up from nemesis to friends to dating in a very realistic way. if you love a medium burn and lots of banter and pining, you'll love this book.  thanks to netgalley and bold strokes books for the advanced copy. "wake me most wickedly" is a regency snow white reimagining with plenty of spice and a great forbidden (ish) romance. hannah moses is a pawnshop owner and an outcast within the jewish community of london, whereas solomon weiss is from an upstanding family and is expected to find a respectable wife. a chance encounter where hannah saves sol's life has him falling for her fast and hard. despite her insistence that they can never be together, hannah's resolve weakens with every clandestine meeting. if you like period romances, feisty heroines and golden retriever mmcs, this is certainly the book for you. bear in mind the period-typical anti-semitism, which has a big role in the story but is handled delicately in my opinion. thank you to netgalley and forever for the advanced copy! "wake me most wickedly" comes out april 9th.
