THE LOVERS is a sapphic second chance romance and probably one of my favorite sapphic romances this year (if not all-time). it follows kit, a tarot card reader who gets invited to work a wedding in joshua tree, only to find out her ex best friend/girlfriend/first love, julia, is planning the wedding. despite the time and distance between them, their chemistry is too strong to ignore.
this was such a sweet story of reconnection and first love and i absolutely adored every bit of it! the california vibes were immaculate and i loved the side characters, as well as julia and kit's individual character arcs. this was a stunning debut and i absolutely can't wait to read more from rebekah!
read if you like:
- fated love
- friends to lovers
- forced proximity
thanks to berkley for the advanced copy! THE LOVERS is out now so run and get a copy!!

THE WORST DUKE IN LONDON is a regency romance reminiscent of "10 things i hate about you" and the third installment in howard's TAMING OF THE DUKES series. i had already read and loved the first book in the series so i was so excited to read this one and it absolutely did not disappoint! howard's writing is funny, heartfelt, steamy, and it made me feel all the things. i was so obsessed with gage and effie—i couldn't put the book down until i knew what happened. i loved seeing their individual arcs unfold along with their love story, and i loved seeing the return of so many beloved characters from the series!! (and i really hope book 4 is going to be about briar and lushing.) thanks to netgalley and forever for the advanced copy!

THE RUIN OF EVANGELINE JONES is a steamy historical romance about a duke who's obsessed with uncovering frauds and the spiritualist that he falls for. i loved julia bennet's THE WORST WOMAN IN LONDON so i was all too excited to read her new novel and it did not disappoint! i absolutely loved alex and evie's chemistry and how they got off on the wrong foot but couldn't ignore the pull between them. they both felt like very well-rounded characters and i found their individual character arcs very satisfying, but i especially loved seeing them come together, take down the bad guy, and fall in love. if you're a fan of historical romances, this one is definitely for you! thanks to netgalley and the author for the advanced copy!

LET'S CALL A TRUCE is a workplace rivals-to-lovers romance about juliana, a widowed mom of two who finds herself re-entering the workforce after years of being a stay-at-home mom, only to immediately butt heads with her attractive but annoying coworker, ben. years later, the two are forced to work together on a career-defining project that they can't afford to mess up, so they have no choice but to call a truce. except as they spend more and more time together, things between them start to heat up, leading to desk-clearing kisses and quality time spent out of the office.
i haven't stopped thinking about this book since i first read it and it's not an exaggeration to say i think about the desk scene at least once a day. this book is so much more than just a romance—it touches on so many subjects like grief, parenthood, identity, rebuilding your life after loss, and so much more. but amy manages to handle these topics with grace and compassion, while also delivering witty banter, swoon-worthy romance, and such a strong connection between juliana and ben. beyond being a romance heroine, juliana is so much more—she's a good friend and a loving mother, even if she struggles sometimes.
this is such an incredible book, especially for a debut author, and there's not a single doubt in my mind that there are great things in amy's future. thanks to netgalley and st. martin's press for the advanced copy! LET'S CALL A TRUCE comes out january 14!

BACK TO ME is a sapphic second chance romance and the second in the QUIBLINGS series, though reading the first book isn't necessary to understand this one (but i can attest that if you haven't read the first one yet, reading this will make you want to). i'm a sucker for second chance romance and i loved how the flashbacks of jo and hunter's past were woven in through the story. seeing them come back to each other and fall back in love (and all the messiness that led them there) was so worth it. and the spice!!! this book had some of the best spice scenes i've read and i think about the lighthouse scene at least once a day. thank you so much to the author for the advanced copy! i can't wait for book 3!!!

PERFECTLY WICKED is a paranormal romance about holly, one of the women running wicked good apples, an apple orchard that's allegedly haunted, and connor, the paranormal tv show host who comes to investigate. they get off to a rocky start, but holly reluctantly agrees to let connor's show film in the orchard, hoping to drum up some business. despite being dead set on disliking him, their proximity as they interview subjects and research the history of her family leads to some unwanted feelings.
this was such a fun spooky romance and i couldn't put it down once i started it!! connor's the flavor of mmc i love best: down bad for his girl and willing to do anything that she asks. and holly was such a fantastic fmc, flawed and complex but so strong and so easy to fall for. the paranormal elements were so engaging and i loved the worldbuilding and lore behind the family's history!!

WANT is a collection of anonymous confessions from women all around the world about their fantasies, curated by gillian anderson. i felt like this was such a fascinating read and i would love a second collection, because i'm sure there was no shortage of stories to tell! it talked a lot about identity, gender norms, womanhood, etc. i felt like anderson did a fantastic job curating these and i loved reading what she had to say about each collection. i would definitely recommend this book for anyone who's interested in gender and sexuality non-fiction.

CASKET CASE is a paranormal romance about nora, a young woman running her family's casket business, who falls for a guy who ticks all her boxes and seems perfect on paper... except he works for death. this was a really fun, slightly spooky romance, and it's perfect for fall! nora and garrett's chemistry was so good and very easy to believe. my only issue was with the pacing—i felt like their relationship developed way too quickly, so i spent a lot of the book waiting for the other shoe to inevitably drop. but i still really enjoyed it and would recommend for anyone who's in the mood for a good fall read!

PRIME TIME ROMANCE is a fun adult romance that's perfect for people who grew up watching 2000s teen dramas and wishing they could be a part of it. brynn, newly divorced and almost 30, has to live with a hot bartender roommate to pay her mortgage. but when a stranger shows up at her door with a birthday cake, brynn wishes for a happily-ever after. only when she wakes up, she's in carson's cove with josh, her roommate. except they're no longer brynn and josh—they're sloan and fletch, the sweetheart and bad boy of carson's cove, respectively.
i grew up watching shows like dawson's creek, gilmore girls, and other 2000s teen dramas, so i knew as soon as i picked up this book that i was going to love it and i wasn't wrong. brynn is such a messy but lovable character and seeing all the chaos and shenanigans she got into in carson's cove had me laughing out loud. i also loved how seeing her and josh fall for each other and how they managed to get home after all.

THE BOOK SWAP is a romance about two estranged friends who unknowingly find themselves swapping books and notes in the margin. erin and james are both dealing with a lot in their lives, so they find comfort in each other as they share their thoughts on books and life. but it turns out they also share a lot of history which makes things complicated when they realize who "mystery man" and "margin girl" were.
i was a little iffy about this book when i first started, because i found erin to be a bit immature and hard to connect with. but i'm really glad i pushed through, because the more i discovered about erin and james's history, the more i understood each of their perspective's and why they acted the way they did. this book deals with a lot of heavy topics such as grief, terminal illness, and mental health, but it does do delicately and with love, and i really enjoyed it.
