I am an A.H. Cunningham stan. I love her books so much. The way she weaves such incredible romances but also the SPICE my goodness I am fanning myself every time I pick up her books.
This one has an age gap with the MMC being 10 years younger and she has 2 twin teens and they basically lie to her to set her up with their teacher (MMC) and as a mom I would have been so mad at my kids, as a romance reader- yes please this was hilarious way to craft the forced proximity. I appreciated the way A.H. had a conversation about the age gap and discussed the ways either society, their own internal hang ups with it all had to be worked through. Plus just the various life stages they were at and how it could create a divide if not communicated.
The audiobook is fire! Thank you to the publisher for a free gifted copy.

I really enjoyed this one. It really gets into sibling dynamic in the wake of having a parent with MH and the stress/strain it can put on sibling relationships. I really resonated with that.
Sisters/ brothers best friend is a hard trope for me. I did love that the author made it sisters best friend and the sister was all about them getting together.
My issues were that it’s also friends to lovers and they already both love each other and we don’t see that fall and build and by 150 pages they are already declaring love internally and I just couldn’t get past that there were 200+ pages and they already are in love. It’s just not working for me.

I cannot get engrossed in the audio due to the flatness of the audio narrator but I am going to try to find the book in a different format
This was also a DNF. I’m struggling getting over the line- “run like Afghans” in reference to Putin running away. I don’t pretend to know everything that happened but I know the US really fabricated a lot and decimated entire countries in the Iraq war so I’m going to say that although I was excited to read this I’m going to put it down

Jonathan discusses the intersectionality of gender, fatness, race and identity in this book. I appreciated the way they connected media to how many people learn to identify themselves. It is sometimes the 1st time someone can connect with someone that feels, sees or acts like them. I really connected with a lot of the experiences they had with growing up fat in society and how anti-fatness shows up in the family. I also really loved how much Jonathan celebrated joy and love and those that helped them discover who they are. It was a powerful and beautiful book and one that I hope you pick up.

This is the 2nd book in a series. Vera meets a young woman outside of the police station and finds out she is searching for a missing friend. Vera sets off to investigate the missing friend herself and gets connected to several people in his life.
Themes:
*Found Family
*Intergenerational Connections
*Loneliness
*Exploitation
*Friendship
This book has so much humor and Chinese culture weaved in with customs, traditions, food and tea. I loved seeing the growth in Vera from book 1 and also seeing her continue to be the sleuth she is in each book.
Eunice Wong does a FANTASTIC job narrating the books and I cannot recommend the audio enough for this series. She brings the characters to life and adds in the emotion to each POV.

This is book 2 in the Curve Series and I absolutely love this series. Danielle Allen has this way of making me laugh, want to throw punches, swoon, and have to bust out a fan to cool myself down.
Nina is a plus sized fashion content creator and she is trying to branch into modeling. She also likes to make sure she has options when it comes to dating. She has a different guy for a different need, the fun one, the smart one, the funny one etc... However, Nina meets one that makes her want to give up the dating around and stick with one person. As she does this she also signs a contract for a modeling gig with a fashion company and she is on cloud nine!
Without giving too much away let’s just say these two should have talked about work because that no fraternization clause!
I loved the fat rep in the book and Nina is so confident in her body. When anti-fatness comes up, she claps back so amazing that you cannot help but cheer for her.
The audiobook is amazing. Wesleigh Siobhan is one of my favorite narrators. I always enjoy her and the way she brings characters to life.

What could go wrong when you call out your ex-college boyfriend on the air on your Sausage Talk show when he is a very loved social media personality who talks about deconstructing toxic masculinity?
Eva is a black cat and has wanted to be a journalist and now she is interviewing B list celebrities over hot dogs. When she calls out her ex-boyfriend on air accidently it kinda blew up and now the ex, Cooper wants to make it up by taking her out on dates and then discussing it on air to show that he has indeed changed. He is the greenest of green flags and even takes her on a date with a therapist!
Eva is hard around the edges and she has such a soft center but is afraid to let people in to see it. Watching her let Cooper in and seeing him show up was great.
I have a feeling this one will either really work for people or they will find it frustrating. Eva is strong and assertive and tough around the edges. You have to go in knowing that she is unlikeable at times. Especially given that Cooper is soft. I loved the complexity of them and their banter and will try to re-read this one via audiobook.
