This book was a bit like Abbie really; easy to dismiss as blonde, pink, fluffy and light but like Abbie it had depth. Great characterisation of a fmc who could have easily been a two-dimensional caricature but infact had depth and backbone. I adored her kindness and generosity of spirit.

Love the mmc Damien and how he immediately saw Abbie's value and worth and wanted her exactly as she was pink, blonde and magnificent.

Really perceptive account of how a relationship might not have physical abuse but can absolutely still be abusive and how blind a person might be to this.

SUPERB. This might pretend that it's a silly light fantasy book about witches, pictsies and magic. Only it's actually and incredibly deep book about the magic and power of kindness and how the stories we tell ourselves are maybe the most powerful magic of all.

Spooky and atmospheric.

Enjoyed the 3 timelines. 1998 when Liv and her daughters arrive on the island, 2001 when Luna and Clover reunite and Patrick's grimoire giving a glimpse of the witches from the title.

Liked that there was a supernatural bend to the story while staying true to the 'they were just women' reality of the Scottish witch trails. Made for an interesting and engaging read.
