Misunderstandings abound! Not just for one or two or three people.... all the people of the 'Ton! From the moment Gideon and Amelia lock eyes, they feel an intense attraction and the feelings of "they are MINE".

Amelia begins to feel that Gideon wants her for his Bride but he wants to have her in his bed as his Mistress.... and he thinks there's an obstacle in his way. I both applaud and feel dismay for Amelia in her different choices. It was so much better when the misunderstandings cleared up and both really looked into what they wanted from the other.

It was a very fast read and the beginning of what should be a great series.

This is the second book in the Venus Bixby cozy mystery series and I think you get the most enjoyment after reading book 1.
This takes place around the Thanksgiving/ Christmas holiday. Venus is also opening a kitty daycare service in town.

We got to revisit the town and its people and it was great to catch up. It took a bit for the dead body to show up but when it does, Venus right away wants to solve what happened... even at the frustration again of the Sheriff. But I love that this time, he's just like "all right.. you can help investigate" because he knows Venus won't just sit back 🤣

I just love how a book by Kristy is summer to me. The story is so vivid that I felt like I was in the mommune with these ladies and their kids and enjoying the beach right outside the house.

The Juniper Shores Socialite account is a fun way to read about the gossip surrounding the town and the mystery of who is running it, who knows the things that people want to know.

I loved the conviction that Charlotte had in her husband's innocence. She (almost) never wavered in her loyalty to his person.

The mommune- it's an interesting thing that Alice made but they truly felt like this great family that were always there for each other. I kind of want a mommune sometimes myself, sharing burdens with someone else who truly understands the role of a mother.

Iris is a spunky girl...Visiting her dad in prison by herself, trying to do what she can to prove her dad's innocence. She was whip smart in her part of "saving the day".

This is only my second book by Louise Bay but I highly enjoyed my time getting to know Byron and Rosey! A runaway bride happens to land in Star Falls, CO where a billionaire is building a resort for billionaires and they fall into a relationship? Yes, please!

Byron is such a great guy. He is super rich but so down to earth. He listens to people's ideas for the betterment of his resort and the land surrounding it.

Rosey got herself out of a horrible situation (her mom was terrible) and she made good for herself. I love that even though she falls for Byron, she still wanted to work and make her own choices since she grew up not getting her own choices.

I loved seeing Worth and the boys that I got to know through Hero + Vegas make appearances. The fire that Byron and Rosey have is so much better with the sweetness of them.

Though I'm not a huge fan of insta-love, I'm forgiving here because I just needed Jordan to have someone good for him and Pearl was just that! From their messy meet-cute to their love for each other, it was a fun ride 😉.

After Pearl gets some news she wasn't expecting while visiting her mom and Aunt in Wales, she literally runs into Jordan and was swept off her, very drunk, feet. Circumstances lead to a road trip to Scotland for Jordan's sister's wedding.. with a sheep rescue and "wedding" of their own at Gretna Greene (Regency romance fans anyone?).

Pearl and Jordan just seemed to really balance each other out. They get a deeper connection the longer they see each other. I loved getting back to some friends in this book and catching up on their lives.

Harper is a contractor and her friend Ani gets her to bring back to life and time the historic brownstone Harper has loved all her life. But she has to deal with Reid, the interior designer, and being in camera because Anika pitched a reno TV show for it.

Poor Harper does not deserve how her family treats her or the company she is trying to run for her father after his passing.

Reid is such a good brother to Jeremiah It's sad that he has to cover that secret by being blackmailed constantly. I did not like the ex-fiancee at all.

I wish there had been more focus on the house renovation and I wasn't very invested in the relationship, even though it was sweet and fun. I really still love the feeling group and how they call each other "sister" because family isn't always blood.

This was a great debut and a very good start to a hockey team with many books 🤞?!

Ellie and Lincoln are the best of enemies to lovers. They have been rivals since they were kids, playing hockey. Now Lincoln is the new head coach and Ellie is his assistant coach for Green Bay. They will have to learn to work together to get the team where they ought to be.

Both have things in their past that they need to work out (trigger warnings are at the front of the book) because after they do, they might understand each other a little bit more.

The side characters were great.... except for the one that I cheered for getting fired 🤣. Sadie is an amazing friend to Ellie, always there to remind her that she does have a place in sports and she has earned every bit of what she's worked for. Hunter is a great best friend to Lincoln, helps him see that he needs to clear some air with Ellie to move on from their past. Even the GM of the team is a wonderful guy.  So though I loved when Ellie and Lincoln hooked up, most of the others parts were what made the book for me.

This was my first book read by Alice but I have several I want to read and am kicking myself for sleeping on them.

Oh dear Eliza! She has to have the toughest spirit I've seen in a character in a long time. Growing up in a time of segregation in the South, she defies the "norms" of the time and becomes best friends with Covey, a Black girl. She wants to see the family farm in her hands after tragedy and is fighting for it, even decades later.

I loved that she told her story to her granddaughter and grandniece. I love that this is being split into 2 books and can't wait to see where the story goes from where it left off. The novel was rich with detail that I felt I was right in that southern low county with them.

How perfect is Milo? He's the best cinnamon roll guy I've read in a while. No questions asked when a friend needs a favor for his friend to stay in Milo's penthouse. Enter Charlee with a black eye. Now the reason why is clear but it still goes deeper. I am so glad Charlee got out of her situation quickly and thrived in Chicago.

The whole Red Tails team is amazing with Charlee. The girls bring her in and she fits right in with them immediately. I love the thoughts that run through Milo's head, they are so sporadic but almost always come back to Charlee. This book was just spicy and sweet.

This was a story that took us from 1977, where Arden is traveling in Egypt to the 2010s, where she has just lost her husband and daughter in a freak accident and is left to pick up the pieces of her granddaughter's life.

This book could make you deep dive into the consequences of your decisions. It makes me look at how I might be raising my kids and how it might look different to them. I felt that Arden is sometimes just flowing through life but not really finding meaning in it until she's kind of forced to.

I feel this also reinforces that it's never too right to change your life and right your mistakes
