slow-paced
The book seemed more concerned with long-winded unnecessary metaphors than addressing any of the most interesting parts of any lore. The town is at stake, but why and how? It just is. It was some how too short and too long at the same time. By the end of the book, I was racing for it to be over.
I'm not usually a fan of crime"whodunnit" novels in generaland this is a real life cold case. I found it plodding.
You can tell how much I LOVED this book by the fact that I finished it in one day. Since I don't read graphic novels, I look forward to looking back and telling people that this was my introduction to the genre, the book that encouraged me to read much more of the same. This is the best action-romance-fantasy I've read in a while with gorgeous art that depicts out-of-this-world awesome characters and character designs. The plot is sufficiently complicated to keep you interested and just the right amount of confused, but not so much so that it takes away from the actual story. I will be spending way too much money on these in the future, but I can't find it within myself to be upset about it.
