Briardark had a wonderfully strong start that hooked me right in. However, about 60% of the way through the book "edge-of-my-seat-suspense" became "introducing more questions and absolutely no answers." I feel like I just read a 300-something page prologue.
Graphic: Body horror, Cursing, Gore, Mental illness, Blood, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Emotional abuse, Gun violence, Toxic relationship, Violence, Vomit, Death of parent, Schizophrenia/Psychosis
Minor: Panic attacks/disorders, Murder
The book began interestingly enough, but Edith really drilled down into specific Roman figures and their personal dramas whereas I wanted to hear about larger cultural trends.

I enjoyed some of the stories, but got stuck for weeks on The Whalers Song by Ray Cluley. Eventually, I just wanted to move on to something else.
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
DID NOT FINISH: 30%
Too clever by half - maybe it reads better than it "listens."
