Very well written book.

Enjoyed the writing and the tension, kept me hooked to the end. Found the end a bit anticlimactic.

Also occasionally struggled with getting the names of the characters mixed up.

Well written, but plot was a bit jumpy and the ending didn't really conclude the book.
I liked the main character Tom but I didn't like the way Clements wrote the female protagonist. She was made into that classic weepy, yet strong, and definitely in need of rescue that men always manage to think is a flattering light. 🤢

Lived up to the hype.

Jenkins Reid knows how to write. Most of her books draw me straight in and drown me in the story. This was one of them, polished it off in an afternoon.

A cracking read.

Imaginative solid plot. The book had serious potential, but fell flat.

The 4 main characters didn't come to life for me and at times the book was a bit of a slog. There are some great ideas, but I think the writing could have been better. For me a case of everything felt described or explained rather than just happening. Perhaps because of the number of characters the PoV swapped between.

However enjoyed the premise and the plot.

I wanted to love this book.
For me it didn't quite work as I hadn't read all the books in the titular reading list. I felt I had to skip through bits talking about the books I hadn't read to avoid spoilers which is jarring when reading, however for the ones I had read it was a lovely addition to the story.
It's a lovely wholesome book, though not always happy, but I would say you have to have read (or at least know the plot of) the mentioned books before you start.

Standard thriller type.
Felt a bit rushed and I finished it not fully sure what had happened.
Not as good as the earlier Reacher books, but an easy read.
