An Absolutely Remarkable Thing

Hank Green

DID NOT FINISH: 15%

I like the way Trevor wrote this book. It felt like we were sitting down together and he was telling me his stories - like he does when telling stories on camera.

Trevor takes you through his South African upbringing both through the eyes of his young self and the adult views and info we need to make sense of them. In a complicated place and time, Trevor dealt with not just the apartheid difficulties but the shadows they left behind.

An astounding story written so as to touch the soul

Having just finished, I am finding it quite difficult to find the words to correctly convey my feelings.
5 stars because I will add this to my collection and read it a thousand times again.
Pi’s life, even before the trip at sea, is bright, fascinating, ensnaring. I never tired of learning more.
The writing is the kind that lifts me up; at times opens you up. It is touching and I find myself aching to read any and else the author has written.

This was hard for me to get through as I’m not really a fan of poetry, but I picked it up bc if how much I like Speak. It’s a book that’s always stayed with me.
There were some poems I liked and I did enjoy it well enough overall.
