pleasantly surprised by how well Anaïs Nin paints a lush landscape of sex and desire, immediately pulling readers into her universe with fluid, dreamlike prose. some stories were better than others yet I was drawn to finish each one.

as the first book, it's a bit rough around the edges, but still so tender and charming!

Intermezzo

Sally Rooney

DID NOT FINISH

[dnf at 30 pages] despite multiple attempts, there's something so alienating about sally rooney's writing that only a few pages into 'Intermezzo' I'm left wondering why I keep subjecting myself to her boring, flat, emotionless prose that's painful to read. her characters drift through supposedly meaningful exchanges that never connect with me, nor do I find them interesting, making me wonder what others possibly see in her writing
