Honestly i bought this book for the cover and this was one of these disappointing books i bought based on cover.

It took me way too long to get through it, too much information was pushed into the short book which was not great. I honestly had the feeling i was constantly reading information instead of the storyline. Besides that was the storyline way too rushed! Most of the time i had no idea how much time had passed and in once it was a whole month. In my honest opinion this book had so much potential if there was not that much information dumping. I know there is a second book but i am already getting tired of just thinking about it to read it.

Besides all that the ending was sloppy and too all over the place. Still don't know what actually made it stop as that was not clear. There were too many characters, too many different povs. The magic had rules but were not explained. Most of the magic that happened felt like it happened of page. The book is a standalone which made everything too pushed together.

The only reason i finished it was because i wanted answers on many questions i had and to be honest the plot is pretty good! It would have been better if not needed information was not kept and more depth into the characters was needed too in my opinion.

first of all thank you Love Notes PR and the author for sending met an eARC copy of this book!

i really liked to read this book! finished this book in a night as it kept my attention the whole time. the book has an age gap, sort of fake dating and even anxiety rep!

i really love the relationship between Rhode and Nina. it was great to see for once that Rhode had an issue at first with Nina being so much younger than him and to see how it got handled like adults as it should! in most books age gap either doesn't get acknowledged/ignored and it was nice to see for once that one of them has an issue with it but that that got shown that if you actually love each other you can be together and it can work out! outside of them the dynamic between the characters were written very nice!

the only thing that irritated me was the dynamic between Nina and Gwen. why would you still live with your sister as she has been with your ex boyfriend? and not in like a quiet way but in a loud way! in my opinion you are just a very bad sister for going with your sisters ex. i get it as someone with also a sister its hard to not not talk to your sister as she is still your sister, but if that happened to me i would have never talked to her again. the worst is that Gwen kept going with the relationship!? until he broke her heart!

First of all, Rowan thank you for this eARC🥹💕

This was such a quick read! Absolutely loved this book from the beginning to the end! Disclaimer: yes it says it is a part of a duet but you can read this book as a standalone!

Lets just start with Nivia and Thane! He wants something from her, she doesnt want to do it but because he threathens her, she does do it! And ughhh if that isn't a good start for an enemies to lovers then i dont know what is. She is hiding to not get killed by anyone! I am not going to spoil though what made me gasp

I mean i kind of think it was like that when it got mentioned but yet i loved it anyways when it got revealed😌✌🏻 the building of their relationship in just how pure it is is just chefs kiss honestly. I love everything about them, i love everything about this book just so you know😌

This book was such a fun and adorable read! The book has been bugging me the whole time to be read. I keep seeing the tiktoks from the author so i finally picked i up!

The book is genred as Adult but it reads like a YA! To me it didn't bug me at all because it made it easier and quicker to read through it.

What disappointed me was that there was no world building at all. You get to know there is only a small city with a forest around and thats all you get to know that is world building. But on the other hand i didn't mind it as much as i thought i would, you know there is magic even though there is no magic system is was alright to me. The story is not based and involved around magic so that didn't bother for me. For someone who goes with high expectations because of reading loads of fantasy you will be disappointed by that!

Their relationship was so cute and build up well until i got to the end and got so disappointed! I do hope the romance gets better in the second book!

"Her fate is inked in blood. It's carved in her bones"

Im just going to say here and now this book is a book i will from now on recommend to anyone who will listen to me and need recommendations!

I went into this book with only knowing its involving Norse Mythology, vikings and magic and if you follow me here for a while and read my posts you know im obsessed with Norse Mythology so when i saw a post about pre-orders for this book i just straight away pre-ordered especially after seeing the UK hardback version with the runes underneath the jacket and blue sprayed edges.

The story starts with the female main character in her house preparing fish and living in a house with her husband who has a drop of blood of the gods. Its nice to read a book with someone who doesn't start out single for a change, just already married even though it was not something she wanted.

The world building was what was needed to know you got to know! Honestly having knowledge on the Norse Mythology already is nice as not everything is told on what it is exactly. But in my opinion im already glad no explanations where given as that would probably irritate anyone who reads it.

What i in my opinion loved a lot is that i got to know some things about a lesser known goddess of the Norse Mythology! It got me excited as i knew almost nothing and when you do research in general about the Norse Mythology you won't read the name very quick or much either. It got me excited that it wasn't some hero story either of someone who saves the world or something but rather a fmc who has no idea what is going on. For me it was a fmc who was somewhat normal (outside of ofcourse the magic)

The writing style is very nice and quick. The book does have a few spicy scenes but these were spice in a nice actual love kind of way and perfectly placed in the story! The relationships building up nicely between characters!
