I enjoyed the vast majority of this book, the last 1/5 was.. okay? It wasn’t bad I think I just didn’t like some character and plot choices in the last part of the story. However, the epilogue definitely made me want to read the sequel. Overall would recommend if you like fantasy, adventure, and characters that can never catch a break.

This book was okay, but it didn’t speak to me much. The beginning and the end feel like two different books desperately trying to mash together. The characters were quite bland and it’s hard to feel connected to them. The writing was nice but that doesn’t substitute a plot or interesting characters 🤷🏾♀️
Moderate: Racism and Fire/Fire injury
