Short, Sweet and spicy!

Denard reminds me of those nerdy looking anime lovers that be throwing DOWN in the bedroom. Never judge a ‘comic’ book by its cover lmaoooo

Very cute and clever. I wanna know what happened after the perfect date ?!!

Honestly nothing too crazy about this one. I really found it interesting how unreliable the narrator is and I liked the teetering of “did he do it? did he not?”. It’s so clever to have the main character be an alzheimer’s patient and have the chapters flip between his journal pages and current events!

Very evenly paced, and the ending was kind of expected. I liked this book, but once it goes back to the library I probably wont pick it up again.

I enjoyed the style of writing so I definitely want to see something more recent from Mr. Paul Cleave!

OH MY GOD! Ratchet, raunchy and hilariously clever. Everybody ain’t shit as fuck, and it’s a hot mess of “WHAT IS GOING ON???” the deeper you get into it. I totally didn’t realize it was also a murder mystery and didn’t look at the chapter titles before reading it was even funnier!

No regrets on this one, my only off-putting comment about it is the grammatical errors… It really doesn’t bother me a few times but towards the end it makes me wonder if editors were like “fuck that”

Big South just sounds soooooo fine! I had to light some candles and set the mood with some of these chapters because Ms.House does not play about writing a juicy, sexy, exhilarating story. This book was the monthly read for my book club and we had so much fun discussing some of the topics that came up along the way. The character development of everyone was very natural and realistic!
From their personalities I envisioned some celebrity cameos in my head:
Jo = Keke Palmer
Bridgette = Tiffany Haddish (in a comedic way, not creepy!)
Everett/ Big South = Waka Flocka
Jo's baby daddy = Dave Chappell

If you know...you know! Strap in and get spicy, I'm ready for the rest of the series because I know those other brothers got something interesting about them too.....

Trick was cute, but Treat??? It gets straight to the point without too much explaining. I knew what I signed up for…

A whole other level honey

After reading The Inmate, I had high expectations for this one! And they were exceededdddd.

Perspective is so important the whole way through. You never actually know what happens next, or what another person is thinking even when you SWEEAAAR by something….

It’s hard to say enough without saying too much, ya know?

Definitely another “I need to get out of my reading slump” books. I look forward to diving into some of her other works and continuing this series.

Very very clever McFadden! You’ve fooled me again…
