I need to be left alone for at least a week.

This made me feel emotions I didn't even know I had, it was such an interesting set of perspectives and an exploration into empathy for the worst of people.

I'm so sad I will never be able to read this for the first time again.

Crying over a book once again. I am entirely haunted, don't think I'll ever stop thinking about this.

This book is more of a 4.5 for me (defo has 5 star potential), I could understand how people might not enjoy Sally Rooney's writing but it was perfect for me. She made these brilliant observations on life and relationships, through realistic characters and a convincing story. I'll probably be thinking about this book for a long time.

Honestly I adored the characters in this book, they felt so real and well explored. This was a great deep-dive into womanhood in Japan and also universal female experiences. Her writing is so beautiful and it was a really well-written translation as well. This book slayed!
