Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata

This was a very weird and kind of uncomfortable read, but I also loved the main character and the store. I think I could read hundreds of pages of her just taking care of the store.

This isn't my type of book initially I thought this would be a mystery. But it is definitely more of a drama. I hated the main character. I thought she was absolutely horrible and selfish. I just wanted her to stop talking.
I did like the secondary characters. I liked the setting of the bookstore.

I didn't really like the fmc, I couldn't connect with her at all. I did like the mmc. I never got fully invested in the story and considering the deep dark topics this book discusses, the book didn't feel emotional or dark enough for me.

The book was OK. I think some of the characters fell flat for me. I wanted to know more about the feelings and drives of the characters. This was still a pretty fun read though.

This is my forst time reading any Jane Austen book. I was surprised at how easy it was to read and how well I could relate to the characters if not their specific situations. Also, how optional I could get over the characters (mostly annoyance by the actions of John Dashwood and Willoughby). It really isn't my preferred genre and I struggled through the first half of the book. But overall I'm happy I read it.

I have now read quite a few Talia Hibbert books and I'm starting to recognize a pattern that I don't really like. The main conflict seems to be that the main female character just does not want to be in a relationship. I guess I just want something more.

The book is very well written and I enjoyed it. There was a bit too much spice for me. But it's all personal preference.

This book was a cross between a fairytale and a ghost story. It was lovely and dark. I enjoyed the main character. In a lot of ways it reminds me of the movie Ginger Snaps.

This was a very enjoyable kids mystery adventure book similar in tone to the unfortunate series of events books. I also am happy that the end of the book comes to a satisfying conclusion.

This book didn't feel particularly scary for a "horror" novel. I understand this is a Ya book, but it just never gave me a creepy eerie vibe.

That being said I enjoyed Anya and her character growth. If I went into it thinking it was a coming of age book I probably would have enjoyed it more.

This story was fairytale adjacent and all the better for it. I couldn't put this book down. It was a lovely read.
