This book was beautifully written and enjoyable, though not always an easy read. I loved the writing style, and characters. The plot and pacing were great propelling me through the pages. I think,  for me this will be remembered for a long while. I will definitely be keeping my eyes opened for more of this author's work !!!

As I said when I told you all I was currently reading this book, I'm not a big fan of science fiction. The only reason I read this is because I enjoyed Dark Matter. But this one... y'all this one was a struggle. I thought about dnfing it but I didn't because, in the end I actually enjoyed it. As I said, it was a struggle. As I was reading, I was thinking, do you know how we often times say that the book is always better than the movie? In this case I believe this would make a really awesome movie, the book however remains questionable. Am I glad that I stuck with it up to the end? Yes. Am I excited that I even read it in the first place? Not so much. I was thinking about giving The Pines trilogy a try from Mr Crouch. Someone let me know if I should read it or forget it.

This book was good fun !!! I loved it!! Told in Dual time lines , the 80's when they were recruited and trained , and Present day when they apparently we eligible for retirement!  Their 80's chapters had some seriously Charlie's Angels vibes .! The plot and pacing were spot on as we're all of the Characterizations!! It will be a while before I stop talking about this. I had slept on it for a long time having bought it all the way back in 2022  and just now read it . 😂 Great job Deanna Rayborn, can't wait to get my hands on installment #2 and I promise not to almost 3 years to read it !

Crows mate for life. Crows have funerals. Crows never forget a face. This was really an enjoyable book. Her prose, plot and pacing were well done. Her characters were all very relatable, believable, and likable. The twists were completely unexpected and kept on coming up to the very end! If I had one negative, which isn't really a terrible negative at all is, I believe that it went on for a bit too long. And when I say a bit I really mean just a bit. I will be reading more by this author and have already marked her other book on Goodreads as a to be read.

Over all a really solid installment of this great PI series! All the regular characters got some forward movement in the fleshing out of their stories, making them all even more likeable/believable. The plot and action were non stop once we got into the thick of things, it took a bit to get there, but once there it was relentless, keeping me flipping pages like a mad man. I need to get my hands on the third in the series, so it may be a little while , but I'll definitely dive back in !!

I only heard about this author this year. Apparently she is a fairly well received historical fiction author, I actually picked up another one of her books, The Fountains of Silence, which I DNF'd. Luckily this one more than made up for that!! The back cover states that this tragedy was 10 times deadlier than the Titanic.January 30th 1945, over some 9,000 Lithuanians Estonians Ethnic Germans, East Prussians and Poles lost their lives to the three torpedoes launched from the Russian submarine s-13. Thankfully Ruta was able to tell the story! The pacing and plot of the story were great she put me in in the first few pages and kept going to the end which I really love!! I will be giving her another chance because I have two more books here by her! Out of the Easy and I must Betray You.
