On paper a YA book about chess did not seem like it would be my jam but I honestly could not put this book down. I know nothing about chess but I found myself immediately engrossed in the story. Our girl Mallory had a lot on her shoulder, how she handled it definitely felt in line with her character but really could’ve benefitted from some therapy. Nolan was one of those sleeper book boyfriends, I feel like he could’ve really been a swooner if given more scenes to show up and show out. He’s just Mr. Slow and Steady. Honorable mention to Emil and Tami- now that’s a book I want to read! I am glad that I gave this book a chance because it was a fun light story.

Secret moments in a crowded room
What a creative and fun historical romance! This book is The Parent Trap meets Dress by Taylor Swift. I usually struggle to get into historical romances because I tend to find the language clunky but this book flows so easily. You will find yourself rooting for Gwen, Beth, and their parents right alway. I love a good matchmaking scheme and this book really delivers. Honorable mention to co-conspirators Albie and Meredith. I recommend this one for anyone looking for a book with Bridgerton vibes but a more modern take.

This was such a sweet and cute Valentine’s short story! I loved that it went heavy on the email communication, it made the story flow quickly and was a fun twist. It gave 2000’s teen romcom vibes. I didn’t expect the story to span so many years but enjoyed it. I recommend this for anyone looking for a quick festive story.

While this short story had a fun and creative concept it was not as well executed as I had hoped. The characters did not have much of a bond together in the short page count. I was left wanting more, I felt the kiss of it all was not fully resolved.

We love a forced proximity moment to prompt a confession of feelings. It was a fun festive read that definitely had me craving baked goods!

I feel like this book would’ve benefitted from being dual POV. I think we needed Grayson’s perspective to balance out Emmy’s. Their poor communication could have been softened if we knew what was going on in his head. Also I have to be honest I hated the 3rd act conflict, there was no reason for her to not give him the benefit of the doubt or at least have a conversation. It was a super frustrating plot point. Despite all of this I did enjoy the book, it was a quick and easy read. If you are a pop culture girlie you will enjoy this romance between costars with a dramatic past.

Can’t go wrong with a sweet cowboy who is head over heels in love with you. Tripp really delivers as a book boyfriend. He is sweet, thoughtful, supportive, and protective. He’s perfect for Magnolia, I loved the two of them tougher. While I enjoyed this book, the pacing was off. It was a slow start for them to become and couple and then the accidental pregnancy trope didn’t come into play until 70% in. It played a crucial role in the book’s plot so it was odd that it happened so late. The book also has a hint of romantic suspense but it serves as the b plot. I would recommend this to the cowboy romance girlies!

This book is very informative and presents a reframing of how the disabled community is viewed, portrayed, and spoken about. I did find that despite the short page count the book could be repetitive. I would still recommend giving it a read!

Best friend’s dad?? Totally here for the mess and the drama with this one! QB writes with a great mix of drama, tension, spice, and emotions. Her books are hot and Avery and Theo’s story is no different. You quickly find yourself rooting for the two of them despite the reasons why they shouldn’t be together. You will find yourself in your feelings along with them during the third act conflict. This book was a fun read, I recommend it to fans of age gap/forbidden romances.

This is a hot one! This book has the feel of a good novella but is even better because the length gives it great pacing. I loved Wes and Raegan. Wes has it bad for Raegan from the start, we love some pining! Wes brings Raegan out of her shell. They seem to get each other and communicate well. Honorable mention to no third act conflict or breakup. More importantly the spicy scenes are hot and aplenty. QB really brought it with this one, I definitely recommend it for the age gap, boss x assistant girlies!
