Unfortunately this book fell flat for me. I could not get into this second chance romance. I had a hard time connecting with Dani. She didn’t seem to know herself and disappointingly did not go on as much of a self discovery journey as I had hoped. Also, I could not stand how her parents treated her- she was a capable adult woman who did not need to be treated as a child. As of Wouter, I think this book would’ve benefitted from his POV. It would’ve provided some balance that this story needed. And while this is unrelated to this plot, it really annoyed me that the characters on the cover do not match the descriptions in the book! This book left me wanting more from the characters and story overall.

Beware of reading this book in public spaces! This one had me crying tears of sadness hope and joy on my plane ride today. This book is my all time favorite of Tarah’s and is a top favorite of the year! I absolutely adored Wren and Ellis. Watching their journey back together rebuilding trust and communication was so beautiful. They put in the work and really opened up to be honest and vulnerable while maintaining a place of love. I couldn’t put this book down because I was so captivated with their story. It was truly moving. Honorable mention to the rest of the Byrd family who clearly loved these two hard. I highly recommend that everyone run out and get this book. Fans of second chance romances like Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan will eat this one up!

It was finally our sweet sweet MJ’s turn at love! I thought the opening of this book was very clever and got you hooked at the start. I loved how Logan was so thoughtful and intentional in his care and courtship. He wanted MJ to feel strong and secure- he really helped her find her way back to confident self. So I loved that aspect of their dynamic. Based on the opening of the book I was expecting a lot more fun banter back and forth. I wanted more of a flirty banter and verbal sparring vibe but that did not suit MJ’s character so it made sense. I also felt that the subplot involving the fallout of Russell King for the siblings needed to be fleshed out more. After all that man did, it felt rushed and unpacked. Despite that I did enjoy this book.

This book was excellent! If you love a protective MMC and a bodyguard trope this one is for you. Cash is hot af. He’s grumpy, a cowboy, and protective over the ones he loves. Seeing this tough and closed off man fall in love was great. In comes our girl Monroe. She is equal parts strong and fierce and vulnerable. I loved that she felt so safe with Cash that she could open up and break down. They had this connection that allowed one another to break down their walls. I also loved that they spent some time at the ranch so we could check in one the girls and the brothers. I really enjoyed this suspenseful and romantic story!

We love a little single dad x nanny moment! QB did a great job of building up the tension between Ellie and Rowan in the first half of the book. The character development and tension building was key to buying into the relationship. I did feel that they stopped talking as much and building their emotional connection once they started having sex. Don’t get me wrong the spicy scenes were hot but I wanted more of that to see their connection grow deeper. I loved Ellie’s connection with the kids and that she had a unique dynamic with each of them. Honorable mention to River who is uncle of the year. I can’t wait for his book! The single dad x nanny girlies will eat this one up.

This is probably Emily Henry's least romance filled book yet. That’s not to say it isn’t a good book, but the romance did feel as though it were the B plot in this one. I found the structure of the book, including the dual timelines through story telling to be interesting. I thought the plot involving Margaret was compelling as the reader (just like Alice) was trying to piece together her story and what she was hiding. At times the romance felt a little insta-love like because we did not see the interaction between the two characters as much. It was challenging to really buy into Alice and Hayden as a couple. Despite that they did have moments where you felt the romance growing between them, I wish there was more of them. I would almost describe this book as Daisy Jones and the Six meets The Last Great American Dynasty meets The Lucky One but also make it a workplace romance.

Lyla Sage can do no wrong!! This series is top tier from start to finish. I truly loved Dusty and Cam’s story. We got a glimpse of their connection, a crackling tension, in previous books but now we finally got to dive into their history. Dusty Tucker is hot af. That is a man down bad. That is a man who KNOWS what he wants. Even with a broken heart he is so steadfast and sure which is exactly was Cam needs and deserves. Our girl Cam has been through it because frankly her parents suck. Seeing their connection through flashbacks really added to the story. That history gave the context needed to build the tension and feelings of  hesitation and hope they were feeling. Honorable mention to the entire Ryder family. I loved seeing everyone living their happily ever afters while supporting Cam and Dusty in getting theirs. This one is for the second chance girlies. I highly recommend.

While I have really enjoyed the two previous book’s of Meryl’s, this one fell flat for me. I just didn’t find myself rooting for Ginny and Elsie. For best friends, there was a lack of communication that felt unrealistic. The two were co-dependent and did not have senses of identity or what they wanted. Even after the conflict, it felt that they didn’t work much out just magically were okay.  This book did offer up some hot af spicy scenes during the honeymoon. Unfortunately this one just left me wanting more out of the story.

This book is a bit of a slow burn but eventually offers up some spicy moments. If you are into books with a lot of internal monologues regarding emotions particularly anxieties and fear, this one is for you. There were times when I wanted the characters to communicate more but towards the end it almost felt like over-communicating or that it needed to be a therapy session. I wish there was a little more balance throughout. I really felt for Isabel, she’s a caretaker by nature it’s her love language and didn’t realize it wasn’t what her loved ones needed until they had an argument. I thought that Isabel’s grief was well written and managed and was very realistic. I wish we would’ve seen Mira address her burnout and overworking concerns a little more. I enjoyed this finance. I feel like fans of Triple Sec by TJ Alexander or of Role Playing by Cathy Yardley would enjoy this book.

This book is wild and weird but not necessarily in a bad way. The book is over 300 pages with frankly very little plot but you aren’t even mad about it because you find yourself wanting to keep turning the page. Weirdly, this book reads almost like a continuous stream of consciousness. It felt like jumping from one thought to another to dialogue and back to internal monologue. It was messy and entertaining with an abrupt ending. I loved all the references to Rhode Island, it was fun seeing spots nearby listed in a book. I recommend this for fans of messy relationships.
