Reading this felt like having a beer at a bar with Jia as a friend - just learning bits about her life and discussing big societal topics together. Her writing is very comforting, and ideas very relatable.

I can never get enough of Moth stories. From seeing them live, to the podcast, and in book form, I love them all. This collection was no exception. Great stories, tons of emotions, a great read.

Really interesting look into Rita’s life and the times of her professional peak. This book went by so quickly and was an easy read.

Giving this book a digestible review is hard. It’s kind of all over the place in surrealism and history and parallel universes — but, that’s all part of the beauty. If you like Murakami’s writing, this will be a fun read. Tons of confusion and psychological turns, in a good way.

Listened to this one as an audiobook and was very impressed. His use of first person tapes and re-enactments made it feel more like a podcast/documentary than a book. This allowed me to go into thought on the big topics at hand while walking or driving - which I enjoyed! It was a cool way to do an audiobook, and a great “read”.

I feel like this should be required reading for all. It’s a great anthropological deep dive into our sexual evolution as humans and brings up some really interesting topics of discussion. Definitely made me think, caused me to have multiple wonderful conversations with friends who have and haven’t read the book, and just generally curious every page which I enjoyed.
