Natalie reconnecting with her family and neighborhood is a really touching story and all the different recipes makes for a fun framing device as she goes through her neighbors. However, there's not much of a romance and as much as I love even the smallest of romantic subplots, I really do feel this would have benefitted from getting rid of the love interest entirely. I definitely still enjoyed the book, just wish that had been rid of and that it was marketed a little differently.

While I did feel it started a little slow in getting to the main plot of the book, the second half was excellent and I didn't put my book down at all after that halfway mark.

Thank you Netgalley and Wednesday Books for the eARC of this!

Truthfully, I did not love any of the characters and I had a hard time believing the chemistry between them, but I still had enough fun with the plot around it to suspend my disbelief and still enjoy it.

Many tears were shed and many wounds were healed. I hope this is the first of many collabs!

Thank you NetGalley and Balzer + Bray for the eARC of this!

This was such a beautiful, impactful story. It's a story of three generations of Iranian men and their journey for themselves, each other, their identities, and their countries. Abdi Nazemian does a wonderful job having each of the three shine in their own story, but still bringing it back to each other. He also does a wonderful job showing the very different queer experiences throughout the decades, but still tying it back to the importance of the loved ones and community around us. I think this is likely a new favorite of mine and I'm so, so glad I stumbled upon it!
