I am loving historical fiction books set during WW2, especially the ones about strong women. This book didn't disappoint. It was a quick read that had a little mystery, a little suspense as well as a little history. There may have been a little romance as well (if you are into that kind of thing, aren't we all though?). It is based loosely on the women who helped the Allies in WW2. I would recommend this book for sure.

I gave this 4 stars mostly because it had some slow parts that I thought dragged a little. Her constant friend Bourbon was annoying as well. I did love the the twists and suspense at the end though, wow! I do recommend it and thought it was pretty good, just a few hiccups. I am curious about the upcoming Netflix deal too.

What more could a girl ask for in a book? Art, history and a thrilling storyline. As a fan of historical fiction and thrillers this one was a winner. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen.

This is an awesome book. I devoured it in just a couple of days. This was a new theme on historical fiction for me. I was shocked and heartbroken at the treatment of the Romanians under the communist regime. This is my second book by Ruta Sepetys and I love how well she researches her stories, making us feel like we are there in the story.

A beautiful love story in a small town bookstore! A couple's love of books and people is the basis of this book and something I loved about it.

I am in love with this book, even more so that it is based on true events. I loved watching Woody grow up. I also loved the bond with the giraffes. A must read!
