We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
1.0
$10 word vomit in a vague direction. There are so many ways this book could have demonstrated a real point. There are sections where the author uses the same words over and over like they just have to use it in a sentence. Talmud and trite, for instance. I can appreciate a disable character, I can dive right in. But dear god, to not show any sort of accountability or closure to the entire story after I worked through all those breathless letters? It was all very soulless and could have been much more cleverly written to illustrate the mother/som dynamic.
