I know people generally hate the fact that the characters keep quoting Shakespeare AND I AGREE but you gotta give this book credit in the sense that the plot and characters were so well written - I was rooting for Oliver and the plot genuinely had me hooked even though I had a feeling at some point who what the big reveal was going to be but only because it was intentionally revealed like that. Almost like baiting the reader into thinking that it can't be that easy.

Oliver's voice before he gets convicted is so pure,
my heart broke for him at the end

(theatre kids please advise are you guys really quoting Shakespeare THIS MUCH? and also I get quoting his really famous lines but paragraphs???)

so many thoughts about the ending i dont know where to begin - the thing that makes me the saddest is the idea that this could have been his
happily ever after. It makes me think about whether this is all there is to life, are we just destined to be miserable?

"I was struck by the senseless idea that we and everything around us were made of glass."

"she was debating whether or not to say I love you.  But the difference between us was that she assumed people just knew those sorts of things, while I was always worried they didn't"

Miranda Fitch is so complex, I dont think I know where I stand with her - which makes this a GREAT read. Like she straddles between being insecure, suspicious & morally  good/bad quite a bit.

Definitely enjoyed the horror/sinister elements in the book. Was definitely holding my breath for a lot of parts in the book.   Beautiful writing, Miranda’s voice is 10/10. Love how much they made you question what was real and fake.

Only reason why I didnt give it a 5/5 was, it felt like the “open” ending was a cop-out and while i enjoyed the “dream sequence” everything did wrap up a little too conveniently for some of the characters

I also expected it to take a more psychological explanation of everything. Honestly would have loved some psychoanalysis in this book.
