This book was very interesting and a little bit stupid but I have not been so compelled by a novel in quite a while

This was so disappointing. It’s really promising and the world is interesting, but the characters are just awful with no real explanation. The protagonist is given a number of interesting abilities but barely uses them, as she would rather unhappily do nothing as people make decisions around her. We’re told throughout that she is strong-willed but that doesn’t mesh with what’s actually shown of her. What a waste.
