It’s a book about someone writing about someone else writing a book. It’s twisty in the best of ways. I never expected anything that came of it! A thought provoking mystery that touches on privilege, American policing and the carceral system, recidivism, race, justice, unhoused communities, parasocial relationships and more.

And a beautiful love letter to Boston wrapped up in wondrous love story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this!

*trigger warnings* for gun violence, brief sexual assault, stalking, brief and un-detailed descriptions of gruesome murders, and limited but pertinent anti-Black racism

also the pandemic and protests are in the book but not a feature
